Computer expert needed ! Peolink PC2 USB Problem !

    Hallo Folks,

My Beolink PC2 worked for some years. But now I screwed the connection up.

I have following Problem now. Tried to install everything new.

    1) Downloaded Beo Port 4.83 (USB is not connected)

    2) Then I came to the point where it says

        - connect the Beo Port box to the mains

       - connect the USB cable between your PC and Beo Port

contiues automatically when the above instruction has been performed

    3) But nothing happens then. Looks like I have screwed something up

I don't think that you have screwed anything up at all.

I suggest you start by rebooting your PC and run the installation program again leaving the USB connected.

If it still fails, then it is most likely that something has happen with the driver and you will have to manually uninstall it.

    Deinstalled all B&O Software

Deinstalled all USB connections and restarted my computer.

Then I tried it again. But still no change.

    at the point

    - connect the Beo Port box to the mains

       - connect the USB cable between your PC and Beo Port

contiues automatically when the above instruction has been performed

    nothing happens.

Could it be that the box gets defect?

    Has anybody experience with that?

Well, the box could be faulty, but based on your previous statement I had assumed that it was previously working correctly and you had just re-installed the software, is that correct ?

Did you plug it into a different and known working USB port ?

Since the Beoport was last working has there been any other changes to teh configuration or your PC ?

Re: Computer expert needed ! Peolink PC2 USB Problem !

    Hi

I recently had problems with beoport- in my case I updated to a new version of itunes (Im using a mac) and that caused havoc with the software.

I actually thought the beoport itself was faulty- i took it into B&O and they hooked it up to their equipment- it worked perfectly, suggesting there was a problem with the computer software (i had to upgrade my operating system on mac).

So.. in short, take the box into a B&O store if you have one nearby, then at least you can eliminate or otherwise the box being faulty.

    Regards

    Thanks for your infos,

YES I tried other USB Ports, without sucess.

I will try the box with another computer (Laptop) today

If it works on this, I at least know that the box is still ok.

If it does not work on your laptop, then we can only come to the conclusion that you have had a hardware failure within the box.

If, however it does work meaning no apparent hardware fault with the PC2, then I would use the Windows Restore function to go back to a point when you know it had previously worked.

I already tried the restore function on my computer.

BUT: I also tried it on my laptop.

Without sucess. Now I will focus on the box.

As I can remember, the dealer who installed the system had problems with the box.

(I think he replaced it that time)

NEXT STEP. I will bring the box to the B&O dealer. And try it there again.

Thanks for your help so far !
