    Beocenter 9500 Beogram 7000 question

I received a Beocenter 9500 today that I purchased on Ebay.  The seller described it as in mint condition but it looks new as if was never taken out of the box.  I am really happy.  However I have a Beogram 7000 which of course had an inbuilt RIAA.   How can I turn of the RIAA in the Beogram 7000 and still use the datalink functions of the Beocenter 9500?

    Thanks,

    Bill

With difficulty! I would suggest swapping it either for a BG9500 or a BG5500.

You will need to cut through the legs of a couple of capacitors to disable the pre amp. Then you will need to change the datalink in the din plug from pin 7 to pin 5 ( or the other way!) as non RIAA systems expect the datalink on a different pin.

All in all it's better to sell the 7000 and buy a Beogram 9500 or similar!!

Thanks for the responses.  I guess I will have to start looking for a Beogram 9500.  My Beogram 7000 is in mint condition which will be easy to sell.

Should be quite easy as the Beogram 7000 is probably the most sought after deck as it will work with all the modern equipment. Also very modern looking.

Re: Beocenter 9500 Beogram 7000 question

Peter you were right.  There is a lot of interest in a Beogram 7000.  I have already received several emails asking about the price.  I probably should have added that I will not be selling the Beogram 7000 until I find a suitable Beogram 9500.  The BG7000 works fine in the AUX connector.  It is a US version.

    Thanks for everyone's help.
