Hi Beolink 7000 helper,

My Beolink 7000 got ill after 16 years admiring usage. The problem: “No contact”

The symptoms are: The remote receives no 2 way information. The blue display blinks! (only when a touch button like volume up or down is used) (The battery is 100%)

My Beomaster 7000 works 100%, I have tested my beomaster with a second BL7000.

My B&O dealer, the technical department, asks me to contact Beoworld helpers if someone can give a possible clue….(My Beolink 7000 is at my dealer now)

Very specialised. The normal method of fixing is to replace modules - the service manual is on site (I think!) but is not very helpful. I believe Ridax fixes these - or can - though I have not seen him on site yet. This is definitely not one to just have a go at fixing yourself.

I'll quote from Cozza on the old board talking about a similar problem, as I don't know if he's re-registered here:

"Sounds like you need to replace the two SMD electros shown in this picture. Make sure that you clean the circuit board thoroughly with Isopropyl alcohol, as they have likely leaked electrolyte on the circuit. I have had to do this to both my beolink 7000s, and it fixed them both of the "no contact" symptom.

22 microfarad, 6.3 volts. Higher voltage may be used, provided the physical dimensions are similar. 4mm diameter, 6mm height."

The most likely problem with your Beolink 7000 is the capacitors in the infrared receiver, it seems to be a common fault. If you pass this information to your dealers technician, he may be able to fix it for you.

 The capacitors are visible through a hole in the shielding box around the infrared receiver.

 If the blue display backlight blinks when you press a button, there may be more than one fault in your unit.
