Latest play! I bought my daughter a microscope for Christmas! I need an attachment for the stereoscopic one but this is from the compound microscope.

What magnification is that picture taken at, looks very good anyway.

For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen..

Interesting aside! The B&O cartridges are set so that the diamond, which is square, is set so that the diamond tracks with the parallel surfaces parallel to the grooves. The Soundsmith cartridge is set at 45 degrees to this so that the edges are next to the grooves. Not a lot of people know this.....Laughing

Obviously the part of the diamond that tracks the groove is the cut part which is heavily sculptured on both.

Amazing images! Does the Soundsmith or the original orientation result in better sound?

Of the cartridges I have, the SMMC20EN would seem to be as good as any of them. It is probably 15 if not 20 years younger though! Now I have cleaned the 20CL properly, I'll have another listen! I can't see that it shoule make much difference - unless someone knows better!
