OK. I have a different phone with a silver pyramid (base) and it works fine. Is there any reason another 6000 would not be able to recognize that base or be recognized by it? Are not all 6000's the same? When I try to link it to the base, it only tells me that the phone is Out of Range or its not recognized. Any idea why that would be? Thanks
Not all Beocom 6000's are the same. As stated by a previous contributor there was only one version of the Beocom 6000 sold in North America which was a US Mark I and is NOT compatible with Beocom 6000 Mark I outside North America. The software loaded into these units is very different from, for example European versions.
If a base or handset was purchased, say on Ebay, it may have come from outside the US, so the best way of determining if it is a US version is by looking at the 4 digit type number as follows:-
US Base Units called "Beoline" would have one of the following type numbers 0839, 0841 1024, 1036, 1043
