Thanks for the information/ advice.
It is a great TV and the sound even with the centre speaker only is really something special.
Regarding model information, the details i can see on the back of the monitor are- Beovision 9000- Type 43/05 MTA SW 1.2
Regarding the fault;
I have contacted the local B&O service centre who quoted me $800Aud which is about 500GBP, and stated that the issue was likely to be a power supply failure. I got the impression that he wasn't really interested in looking at it, why else would you quote such a high price from the outset, without even looking at the machine?
Anyway, there is a guy i know here in Melbourne who works on old valve amplifiers, and has worked on TVs before, I am considering asking him to have a look at it for me.
So my next question is; Is the repair of B&O goods a super specialised area, or could a rather competent electronic technician be able to diagnose and repair these units? Does it have to be a B&O man that does the work?
I'm also considering listing it on Ebay and letting the local market decide if they want to pursue the repair/ salvation of this great B&O home entertainment unit.
Thanks< Lee
