    Beosystem 2500

After nearly 20 years of keeping my Beosystem humming along , and patching and having repairs done, it finally just stopped putting out the music. Turntable, CD, remotes, including my Beolink 5000 and Beolink 7000 all functioning , but no sound. Do I have it repaired one more time. Am I getting so old I have missed something obvious, or do I treat myself and just go buy a new Beosound 3200 and be like everyone else? I would appreciate advice if someone would be so kind. I was hoping the system would outlast me.

What speakers do you use? Do they switch on, does the LED change from red to green?

    Re: Beosystem 2500

Iam utilizing the powered speakers that came with the unit. They power up and the lights go from red to green just as if they always have. but no sound. The Beosystem mute button works, the volume levels read as I raise the volume, but no output. The CD spins, the record on the turntable spins, the radio stations appear on the readouts, but no output. I ask the forum because I feel like I have done something stupid and dont know what it is. I have not moved disconnected or in any way altered the set up from the last time I used it.

The green memory set light is on when the unit is in standby. I reset the time and there is no memory set in the unit. The green memory light goes out when I activate the CD, Radio Etc. I cant get the green memory light to turn off as per the unit instructions ( " when unit is in standby, press mute ) but all the remotes continue to function properly.

I replaced the batteries in two of the three remotes ( not the 7000 ) and tries the Sound 1 Store. No results. It is blike the speakers are shut off internally.
