    Avant DVD linked to LX4500

Having just got an LX4500 - I'm now thinking of going the whole hog and buying an Avant DVD, but I have a couple of question:

     1) If I use the LX4500 in my bedroom and link it to the Avant and my BS3000 will DVD's and satellite play on the LX4500 in widescreen rather than 4:3 or is there a setting like there is on the sky box

    2) Do most of the Avant DVD's come with Sky+ as standard in the STBC or do I have to get an upgrade chip and how much would that be.

    3) Doe they come with Dolby boards as standard so that I can connect the BL4000 to it as I have done with the LX

Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Avant DVD linked to LX4500

I use an LX6000 in exactly the same way. Assuming that the LX4500 works in much the same way as the 6000 (and I think it does):

    1. DVDs play in widescreen. Satellite seems to as well.

    2. Depends on the age - I bought mine new and it needed updating. I think they fitted mine for free as I was buying something else at the time.

    3. In the UK, yes. DTS came later - you can tell if it is fitted by the sticker on the back. Any software update comes with a new sticker!!
