I've just joined the forum and I'm a real novice re B & O but have bought a Beosystem 5000 for my husband's 50 and need to learn quickly so before his birthday next Tuesday.

I've just purchased the final piece -  Beogram Record Deck Player 5000 but the magnet that holds the lid down is missing - any tips?

Is it just the magnet or is it the whole assembly? I think there is a tipping assembly which moves when you press the front of the panel under the lid. If the assembly is there, all you need is a small magnet - something like a fridge magnet spings to mind. If the assembly is missing, you need the correct part.
