    Beocenter 7700 switching off??

    Hi

my beocenter has started just switching off after 3 seconds after any selection of ph TP or P1 - P6. Everything lights up then click switches off!! Has it died or can it be fixed??

    Many Thanks

    Andy

    Re: Beocenter 7700 switching off??

I had the same problem with mine, and it was caused by bad bias-trimpots. I had them replaced (and properly adjusted), and since then the unit works fine.

I suppose it's really easy if you are used to soldering, but I'm not. :) I let a repair shop fix it for me, it didn't cost much.

I don't suppose your remote could be sending an 'Off' signal after three seconds?
Just a thought. Try removing it from the room.

    Poor me, never win owt!

    Re: Beocenter 7700 switching off??

    Hi

have had a good look around and found these 3 wires the red, brown and orange wires are not connected to the inputs at the back around the tape 2 phono inputs. Could this be a reason for switching off?? Or is it a red herring??

    Thanks

That cracked PCB might have something to do with it Erm

Ok not directly, as that board is  only for TAPE2 and the pre-amp in/out, but as you have wires off and a cracked board just above where  all the output transistors are....it points to damage elsewhere.

I've got 2 7700's in pieces at the moment, so if you need some spares PM me.
