    Multiplex adapter 0001

I need some advice please. I have recently acquired a BeoMaster 900K in fine condition, but missing the multiplex adapter. Not an issue, I also have a scrap white-key BeoMaster 1000 that does have the adapter - so I've swapped it across and now I have stereo sound on the radio. So far so good, but there's a problem.

When I used to use the MPX module (in another BeoMaster) it used to take around half an hour to warm up and switch the stereo beacon on. I recall it used to warm up faster in warm weather than cold. It now takes that long just to go to stereo sound, but fails to light the beacon. Something on the module is aging rather badly - the question is what?

My gut feel is capacitors - I counted 8 on the circuit diagram - but I figured someone must have experienced this before?

    Cheers, Steve

Yes, capacitors would definitely be the place to start.

Looks like a nice radio and at a nice price.

Thanks Martin, I suspected as much.

The unit itself is very nice indeed - no damage, all the original bulbs inside still work so I suspect it might not have seen a lot of use. Sounds lovely.
