Better to throw the old Mars Bar remotes at kids - less useful and heavier!

Surely they will provide a gold leaf or even solid gold limited edition for the really wealthy clients! It is all personal taste - and of course the more ahead of its time - the more likely it is to date and go out of fashion sooner! Brian

Go BOT go - here is to 2009! Brian

The design sometimes is lost as the products develop sadly. Take the stacking BM 5000 - neat red lights at the same brightness and location - lost as it was taken into the 5500, 6500 and 7000. The way the motorised TVs turn back to their starting position, the volume after switching back on is at a preset level not the last one listened too! Brian

It should work off Powerlink - I use one (a Passive) from the Powerlink output of my TV to power the passive and drive a pair of CX100s. Brian

I have a 1960s catalogue that lists the few different Beosystems that were available then. One of these - the Beosystem 900K lists the Beogram 1000, Beomaster 900K and the Beovox 2500 as the "extra" speakers". They were also used for the Beovox 5000, Beolab 500, Beogram 1800 as the Beosystem 5000. The former is just using the standard

And what if you loose it, forget which control button works which programme or even worse if someone steals it! Keep it (more) simple! Brian

Why keep the speakers - they were poor! Find a couple of good LX5500 and keep the bits from them! Brian

I think it is just the older B&O amplifiers at the top of the range that had the ability toadjust input - ie Beomaster 3000 and Beolab 5000 Brian

The early Beomasters (and the odd early Beolab) were rated for output into 4 ohms as that gave them a higher power output when comparing performance figures with competitors. Over time this became less important and most amplifier outputs and B&O speakers were changed to "8 ohms". The latter is more important when running mutiple sepakers
