how to assign a digibox to the stb list.

i have the IR emitter and the STB module built into my 32" avant.

 i cannot see my digibox listed. its a fortec star, is there a way of assigning the digibox so i can use my beo 4 remote?.

at the mo the fortec star digibox is assigned as sky digital in the list but as guessed it doesnt register any functions in the digital menu in the avant.

hope this all makes sense and can anyone help please.

Jason, if your exact model is not on the list. Is there another model of the same make? They may share some IR codes. You cannot add a new box to thye list. All you can do is check to see if you box is on the latest SW update. This does involve changeing a chip inside the Avant. It's about a 15-20 min job.

hi craig, thanks for that. no there is nothing remotely connected to my digibox in the list. where would you get a chip from?

I had mine fitted by a dealer cost me £70!  what digibox do you have i will check my newer list?

the tv is the avant 32" 100 htz crt type number- 82/24

I've just ordered myself the latest chip for my BV3 and here is the list that I am expecting to be able to control:

I intend to check the list on my TV once fitted and then buy a new digibox, probably a Humax 9200T or Topfield

no ive checked, i guess i could get a humax/sky digital box there is a couple listed on the list so i guess the codes may be the same on the newer box.

I tried buying an 'old' box first - a Panasonic TU-CT20 - one of the ones that is currently listed on my TV.  It worked fine through the Beo4 but the actual digibox performance (missing and misplaced channels) and user interface was so bad that I have decided to update my STB chip and find a newer/better digibox.  I ordered the new chip today for about £30 and intend to fit it myself.

Pretty sure teh list should be longer than that. That must be an addition to the previous version. Pretty sure the original STB in my BV3-32 (same chassis and chip) has 99 STB's on it. Ill check later after the soaps have finished. Otherwise Jo will not be amused.

bless him, everytime i go in there well for the last 20 odd years he has always i mean always tried to flog me at least something. one day im going to shock him and order an upgrade to my link system!

 must say though i do miss johnney. that was a loss to the company.

My current list is much longer too (68 boxes listed) - hence waiting to fit the new chip and see what I've got!

I fitted the new chip last night - took about 20 mins and relatively straightforward.  It was labelled Western Europe and is 'Table 4.25' according to the service menu with a total of 38 STBs listed.  Plenty of relatively new ones listed.
