I'm sorry but a Beosystem 5000 does only work remote wise with the MCP like you got or the 5000 remote which was special for that system/Beomaster.

If you can locate the very rare IR controller kit in complete condition then you can use the Beolink 1000, Beo4 and so forth.

Keep an eye out on the different ebays as the IR kits do turn up but maybe once a year or something.

I managed to get one but I moved to Beosystem 6500 so never completed the IR kit I got. No I'm not selling it.

I'm afraid Friedmett is correct, you need a terminal 5000 for everyday use, not to be confused with the CD 50 terminal or terminal 3300 which both look very similar. Keep watching ebay & one will come up for sale I'm sure but they are bit like London buses - none for months & then 4 come along at onceWink

To be honest I would personally upgrade to a Beomaster 5500 which - although a (very) slightly inferior amp offers all the connectivity of the Beomaster 5000 with the added bonus of being newer & compatible with later/current remotes such as the Beolink 1000 & Beo4. You can also connect your other 5000 system components to it and they will work perfectly well as they take commands via the Beomaster.

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

Well I'm still owner of 2 Beomaster 8000 white and palisander edition + Beomaster 6000 white and palisander too so that's why I'm sticking with it. It could be fun to see how it would work someday.
