    Avant Speaker Cloth Removal

As mine in now dirty grey instead of "clean" grey - I'd like to remove and clean it. How do I remove the cover from the chassis?

I reckon I can clean it with soapy water and use a hairdryer to dry it - but any help would be appreciated.

I'd take care in the cleaning process, the cloth is difficult to clean, the silver covers on my 4000's didn't really clean up perfect, but i put them in the sink with luke warm mild detergent water and a soft sponge. If your using the hair dryer put it on a low heat setting because you don't want the glue to disintegrate. If it's sunny over there lay it upside down on a grid or a towel in the sun...

It's snowing here right at the moment - I guess that is not really sunny.

Back to the topic: I would leave it as it is - I've tried to clean speaker cloths several times and they always look worse than before afterwards.

You CANNOT take the cover off of the plastic holder as you can see from the picture below because it is bonded into the plastic on the four corners and along the edge seam.

i just hoover mine VERY carefully , seems to do the trick

just don't use the metal edge of the hoover end , use a plastic one or you might tear the cloth !!
