• Re: Comcast Xfinity

We had one of these units from Charter Cable, and we did not have a really good experience. The unit could pick up the ping to activate the software, but it could not pick up the identifier as to the premium services. We tried with two units before moving back to the orginal DVR. That being said, we didn't seem to have any issue with the Avant and
Please don't buy Bang -Olufsen products because they are expensive and not of good quality today
As all of us just halted our purchasing intentions on the strength of specificty of your post, please make sure to let us know when they are not expensive and of better quality so that we might re-enter the market

  • Re: The 'Dark Side'.....

The dark side around here includes: iPad2 AppleTv2 to connect the iPad2 to the Avant and ML Airport Extreme as an alternative way to ML via the 9000 B&W P5 Headphones But in looking at an additional television I ran back to the light: a used Avant with a DVD1 which applies to the formula (Avant'06>HDcrap of today) Let me catch my breath.

  • Re: iPod Dock and BV7?

In our set up, the AppleTV2 goes through a convertor to an Avant, and the iPod/iPad2 music goes through all of the ML connections throughout the house via AirPlay. We can also access the ML through the 9000 via an Airport Express, and it will also put music through the ML via Airplay.

  • Re: Are Form 2's good on planes?

The Form 2 does not block out the ambient noise of the aircraft, and I do not like the muffled sound or quality of the build from the Bose product. I went with the Bowers and Wilkins P5 headphone and I am very pleased. Excellent folding design for travel, great carry case, interchanging wires for Apple products vs. non-Apple products, excellent sound

  • Re: HDMI and linkrooms

I copied this from my post about connecting the Apple TV2 with an Avant. The Apple TV 2 nd Generation (black) works with the Avant! The solution: feed the HDMI through the LinkStyle HD Video Convertor LK-219414. It gives wonderful color and the sound is perfectly synched. I purchased it from Amazon for $53.99 plus shipping. Have fun and enjoy! What

  • Re: New name revealed

And just how did that new name work out for NetFlix? In the current state of the economy the brand should be consolidated and set forth, not split apart.

  • Re: Competitors.

The closest overall brand might be Loewe AG. As a single product, the Bose Television was recently introduced, which is moving up towards the lower end B&O price point: but the quality is not the same.
If I can offer a little input on this... A market exists for faux-surround. There's absolutely no denying this. I would argue strongly, however, that it's not a market that we want any part of. We have to stand for a level of performance and craftsmanship that are at odds with the Bose philosophy. We're

  • Re: Dear Tue, today I saw the Bose Videowave, and ...

Excellent opinions on the Bose Videowave. I saw it in a store demo in a closed room. The sound was very good and I kept looking behind me for the speakers. This should really appeal to those who cannot run wires or live in apartments that prohibit the ability to run wires. The price point seems a bit steep for what you are getting, but it does bridge
