  • Beocord 7000 Fault

I decided out of interest to recap my Becord 7000 and see what could be had from that. As it was in need of a belt replacement I thought now would be a good time to try this. Having replaced all caps (there are quite a few!)in the audio path with Nichicon FC type and all other with Nichicon PW's as well as the belts I was expecting some improvement

  • Re: Beolink 1000

If you use a digital camera or camera on a cell phone pointed to the IR end of the Beolink you should see the LED's flashing. At least that will indicate if there is a "stuck" button or any life at all when a button is pressed. Have you tested the two capacitors inside?

  • Re: rubber or foam rings for midrange speakers

I refoamed the mid-ranges in my Penta's with rings sourced from Good Hi-Fi. These fitted perfectly. There has been much debate about using replacement foam or rubber rings. Personally, I would choose foam as that is what the mid ranges were manufactured with.

  • Re: Beolink 7000 keeps switching on and off

@ Leslie, I did a recap and battery replacement and that resolved the issue for me. Can be viewed in this thread here http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/35867/297765.aspx#297765 I would do basic check: Battery is good and producing 6 volts? Pin 10 on the ribbon cable is at 5Volts when BL is on and 0 volts when off. If it is, then issue is with the analogue

Just to clarify; Right arrow=Not ok ; Down arrow=ok P5 is the connector for the flat white ribbon cable, pin 1 furtherest away from transformer.

I've copied this from the service manual that may also assist in fault finding.

That hadn't occurred to me, but what a great idea. You have got me thinking now! The original floor stand is a little hard to come by, so why not make one?! I'll post up a thread on the lithium battery replacement. It's on the ever growing to-do list.

  • Beolink 7000 power Off/On fix – A Project

A while ago I replaced the capacitors around the IR transmitter and receivers which resolved the “No Contact” issue. Now it’s time to tackle the next problem, one that has been covered on this site before but I thought I would add my own experience in as well. The issue of late is that if the remote is off the charger, after about

  • Re: Beomaster 5500 restoration project

Time to sit back and enjoy. Next on the to-do list is modifying the pre amp out to be a true pre amp out, not just driven off the speaker output. May also recap the tuner board and replace the muting relay.

Next is the pre amp board. Almost all caps here replaced with WIMA. I replaced the OPAmps with OPA2134 units. Decided to use sockets here so that I could experiment with different types of OPAmps later on. CPU Module next. This was quite tricky to get into as the top cover had been soldered in part to the metal frame and proved to be a great heat sink
