• Re: The Audiophile & B&O

20 years ago, I stopped worrying about whether or not my Linn Sonndek was set up properly, or whether this type of turntable support worked better than that one, and bought a B&O system. I then just listened to the music and have been happy ever since, although instead of worrying about set ups and cable, I now collect vintage B&O, which I suppose

  • Re: Compatibility across systems/manufacturers

There is a second tape input which can be used with a CD player, although it is a standard 5 pin DIN socket rather than the more commonly used RCA type phono connections. You should be able to use virtually any CD player from any manufacturer although you will probably need a Phono to DIN adaptor. A B&O CDX is a good match visually, although good

  • Re: Compatibility across systems/manufacturers

It looks as if you have a real bargain. Reading the sales pitch, it even infers the two compartment lids are working pretty well. (The push button releases and the hinges on these are notorious for breaking). Check the S40s to see if they have foam rot (the grilles are a simple push fit), but even if they do, which is likely given their age, there are
I'm also watching a Beocentre 4000 with a pair of S40's on ebay, and wondering whether that will accomodate a tangential turntable?
Hi, There are actually two Beocenter 4000s - one from the 70s with a single cassette deck and one from the 80s with a double cassette deck. Given the one you are looking

  • Re: How does the Beogram TX compare?
Also it seems as if the Beogram 4000 and 8000 TT's are the most popular on here... how do these tables compare to a TX?
Most B&O lovers view the Beogram 4000 as the finest, purely B&O turntable of them all, both from the point of view of sound and build quality and the integrity of Jensen's and

  • Re: Beogram 4002 lid problem

Hi, I'm assuming you want to remove the whole lid assembly, including the spring-loaded element There are two screws, about 1.2 cms across, located on the bottom of the turntable in the rear corners. You will need to rest the turntable on a table or some other solid support so that the rear section overhangs by 5 cms or so to allow access to the

  • Re: beogram recommendations??
or buy a duff one on ebay (not more than €20-30) and have it re-tipped chez Axel Schurholz , or buy an already repaired one from him! Not really a problem these days. Someone on eBay with a 100% feedback (UK) also sells complete refurbished Beograms with Axel's cartridges!
Agree on both counts. Axel's

  • Re: Are Form 2's good on planes?

I'm not sure either Form 2s or A8s are particularly suited to use on aeroplanes, as the biggest issue is consistent and considerable background noise from air conditioning, wind noise and, above all, jet engines Neither of these 'phones are particularly good at isolating the listener from this. I have tried A8s, Form 2s, Sennheisser PX100s and
