  • Re: Lutron IR codes

I'm only guessing, but does it not respond to the same remote commands as you previous Bang and Olufsen remote control has ?

  • Re: What signals are transmitted over powerlink ?

Hi Russ, From what I understand the powerlink connection transfers the source information however ? I understand that now that the remote will send whatever it is told to do. It is almost a separate entity in that whatever i press on it, it sends. That is a useful bit of information. My thoughts on the Powerlink information that is sent comes from the

  • Re: How well supported are the vintage products ?

Thank you for everyones responses, it assure me that the equipment of the previous generation can stand up to regular use ad still be repaired. What about the current stuff? Is it expected to still follow the same background or now me have a few surface mounted components and a more complicated digital signal path is the previous reputation for serviceability

  • What signals are transmitted over powerlink ?

If a television, say an Avant or BV5, receives a signal to turn to CD when there is no masterlink audio source connected or set up, what signals are sent over powerlink ? Does the TV just ignore the signal or does it get sent and the system assumes that you don't know what you are doing ? Currently in an audio only system the remote turns to TV

  • How well supported are the vintage products ?

I am thinking of spending a not inconsiderable amount on some B&O equipment. I would like it to last for quite a few years yet, which from the reputation it will but accidents happen and part wear out before they are supposed to. Is the support from B&O good on what is considered vintage equipment ? It is one of the things which puts me off

  • Re: iPhone remote app

mjmedlo: I recently purchased a new mac mini and apple tv for my home. I have iTunes and Beoport connected to the Mini and the apple tv connected or wifi; anyone know why the remote app on iTouch/iPhone will not find my library? It works perfectly at the office, just won't find the library at home? Will the remote work when I also have the apple

  • Re: Beolab 5, Beovision 5 and AppleTV

Alex: More like two conversion stages. Apple Lossless > AppleTV > digital out to BL5s = identical to CD. That is what I am hoping for, with the 2 extra stages I feel that there will be an inevitable loss in quality if I convert from digital to analogue to digital again. When I would be spending that kind of money on world class speakers I feel

  • Re: Beolab 5, Beovision 5 and AppleTV

The one thing about that , which I am trying to avoid, is the stage where the TV does a digital to analogue conversion and then the speakers do an analogue to digital conversion. That would seem at first glance to be an awful lot of unnecessary processing to a signal which is possibly avoidable.

  • Re: Beolab 5, Beovision 5 and AppleTV

RussR: Perhaps still not there yet, someone will correct me certainly, but I think that the BeoLab 5's will need to 'see' either a 'CD' command coming down the display/data lead on the fully wired PL, or a 'Radio' command at their ir sensor before they will check their digital input for a signal. You may also be asking for

  • Re: Beolab 5, Beovision 5 and AppleTV

Thanks for all your help. I suppose I should explain a little more about what I'm hoping to do. The AppleTV would be connected to a distribution amp for SPDIF (i.e. one input and 2 outputs) it would be set to output PCM stereo. One of the outputs from the distributor would be connected to the Beolab 5's and the other would be connected to the
