• Re: Beosystem 8000....25 years late!

Silly question I know, but had to check ;)

What speakers will you be running?
Well, it was initially between the Beovox CX50s and a pair of Goodmans Maxims, but in the end I decided on MS150.2s!
have you tried measuring motor voltage at its own terminals when pressing volume? Also, do you remember what I said abot these motors a few posts ago? Maybe unlikely with yours but if you are getting a decent voltage at the terminals then you should not jump to completely writing the motor off!

Adam that sounds interesting, I wonder how the hifi community will recieve this beast then! What speakers will you be running? I think I might be tempted to come along to this one :)

Glad the penta conversion went ok :) IMO it is worthy of the effort to get the best if you want to use the things as passive speakers but retain the amps :)

That is awsome where did you find the material? Also how did you do the letters - I am contemplating doing mine sometime soon and would be more than happy if it looked that good :)

  • Re: Packaging to die for!

what do people think when they pack heavy items like this! Unbelievable!!! TBH whenever I see such examples I always think the item was damaged to start with and they purposly pack like this to try to turn things into a courier claim or even try to lay the blame with the recipient!!! hope things get sorted without trouble!

  • Re: Beogram 8002 Demo

Better than I could have done :) you could have mentioned automatic 10" record detection and the variable fine speed control when moving the arm across :) I think variable speed is simply so that you can change the pitch of the music, maybe for folks who want to fine tune a piece for instance, to their own piano?
I had my driver surounds replaced by Recone Labs as mentioned above, all four cones came to about£250, they did a wonderful job returning them with rubber surrounds.
Seems like a lot of money did they replace the coil and spider etc...? I do know they have (had?) a good reputation though!
