  • Re: B&O 3300 - PENTA SPEAKERS

It depends on how loud you want to play - and how big the room is... The Beomaster 3300 can drive the Beovoxes -and it can play quite loud. But if you need real power you'll need the Beolab's. BM 3300: 2x30w(DIN) Beolab Penta: 150w(DIN) each (as far as i remember).

  • Re: Can a BeoSound 9000 play CD-Rs?
So could one then postulate that playing a CD-R is a good test for the condition of a CD player?
Yes - if it can't play a CD-R (or starts having problems playing any CD's) it's probably some electronic problems -like bad capacitors. However -if you bring it to a B&O dealer, they'll probably

  • Re: Can a BeoSound 9000 play CD-Rs?

First of all...I don't know if the BS 9000 can be considered as 'Vintage' But -to your question: I am not sure about the BS 9000 -but I have some older B&O's -a Beogram CD 4500 and a CD 6500 -and an even older CD50 from '86/'87 -and they can all play CD-Rs. So I guess that even the first BS 9000's also will play those

  • Re: beogram recommendations??
There is another option, albeit a more expensive, non-B&O one. JA Michel in the UK make a fabulous looking turntable which has a design pedigree going back to the late 60s - the Gyrodec. http://www.michell-engineering.co.uk/turntables/
It is probalby a super turntable, this Gyrodec - might be better than
I have no idea how much this costs but it is very cool. It can be controlled by an iPhone. Has anyone ever seen this? http://www.scanomat.com/coffee-brewers/topbrewer Evan, Sorry to disappoint but it is not available in the US.
Hmm - a built-in coffee brewer... -maybe next to a draft beer system

I really makes me sad that this beautiful range is so much nicer than the B&O hifis of today - their range now is a bit of a mess and not very desireable! These vintage systems are simply superb!
Sure thing Tod! However, I prefer the complete Beosystem 4500, got 5 of those
Much of the electronics comes from the Beocord 8004 and the mechanics from the Beocord 2000/3000.
Was there ever a Beocord 3000???I think you mean the 3300 Btw. the later models of the Beocord 7000 had a different tape mechanism -i think it was a cheaper one (maybe from the Ouverture). My experience

  • Re: CD 6500 disk drawer
Is it terminal? Are there any repairers in the Yorkshire area? I went to the Leeds B&O shop but the sales guy was not interested and didn't even know what a 6500 was.
NEVER ask a sales guy -they are only interested in selling you something new. Most of them knows absolutely nothing about older models
