It would be unfortunate if that was the case, but equally unsurprising. ML Gateway is definitely overkill - it can control a large variety of 3rd party home automation which would be unutilised if all the user wants is two-way BS5 control. The existence of ethernet on the BM5 means it would fairly simple to implement whatever service they like in its

It would still need a dedicated PC or equivalent - all a "Beosound 5" is is a custom made glorified keyboard and monitor. There's nothing in it. Using your own Windows PC wouldn't help, as you'd have no Masterlink or Powerlink outputs - so what do you use it as? I can't see this as the answer. I'd hazard a guess that the

It is correct - the TV will only distrbute analogue input signals. So if you can connect the box via SCART/Composite then this will work. (bear in mind that you can connect BOTH SCART and HDMI at the same time - the TV will use the HD signal, and the RF modulator will use the SD analogue signal). [quote user="stefan"] Completely agree. If you think you buy a Beo4 1710, enable "navigation button" in your BV7s remote menu, and now you can control all navigation- and enter functions with the the new (joystick)- center button, you are ..... wrong! By far the best piece of software I've found for all things music conversion is dbPowerAmp Music Converter.

I still don't understand the 'too much choice' - it's the same choice? It's the same music collection. You know what you have, you decide what the listen to. It's just that instead of having to make it in advance, you can make it whenever you fancy. You could always write down 6 albums at home on a post it note and stick it on

Convenience is saving time and energy. You don't have to mess about with sorting your CD selection before you get in the car. If I want to listen to, say, Pink Floyd's "The Wall', I just listen to it. I don't have to consider anything. I'd say you have to consider far more options when you decide which 6 CDs our of your 100s

For the convenience of being able to choose what you want whenever you want without being constrained by the decision of which CDs you decided to bring with you before leaving?
