  • Beogram 4002 Not Functioning Properly After Capacitor Replacement

Hello, Man is this frustrating, I just did a capacitor replacement on a Beogram 4002 that I thought would fix the table. The tone arm goes across the record but does not set down and then returns to the starting position and shuts off. It will not decend even using the down button. Everything else that I can check out seems to work. I do notice two

  • Re: Beogram 4002 Tone Arm Wires

Hello Martin, Thanks for the reply. So I assume that it is alright that they are in contact with the metal that supports the tonearm. Regards, John

  • Beogram 4002 Tone Arm Wires

Hello, Here is a real novice question. I have three non-working Beogram 4002 tables that I would like to get one or two working. I am in the process of installing Martin's capacitor kits in two of them. One of them I had tried to canabalize for the sake of the other two and removed the screw and the clamp thats hold the tone arm in place where it

  • Re: Beogram 4002 Control Panel Finish

I think I am going with the theory that there is a coating as well, because I can actually see where it is pitted in the most worn areas on the Beogram 4002 that I have. I am not any kind of expert on finishes but I would think that if it were just brushed metal that just the wear of touching it with your fingers would soil it, but that could be cleaned

  • Beogram 4002 Control Panel Finish

Hello Everyone, I am curious if anyone has ever come up with a decent way of re-coating the finish on a Beogram 4002 touch control panel? Just normal wear over the decades has worn the finish down on almost all of these tables I have ever seen. It seems like with the number of tables sold on ebay and with the number of people on this website that own

Hi Mika, No I haven't, I was hoping there was some easier way than taking off the operation panel. Thinking that it might be as simple as removing the other panels which doesn't involve a screw driver. I am not so much lazy as fearful I might break something not knowing how to properly remove it.

Great thread and the pictures were a big help. I am in the process of restoring a 4002 and have been lucky to have acquired a couple that I can swap the better cosmetic parts to put together one better table. One question I have that seems a logical extension of this thread, which is how do you completely remove the wooden base that I would like to

Thanks for the feedback. This most likely would be a better parts turntable than one to get fixed I would imagine. Maybe I can trade or sell some parts to upgrade the 4002 I just received. The platter and brushed aluminum pieces on the 4000 are in pretty decent shape. Once again, my thanks Peter!

Hello Peter, and thanks for the reply. I wasn't real clear about the push button panels they didn't come off in shipping but had been removed by someone who attempted I think to fix the turntable at some point and never attached again. They were packed with the 4000 when I got it. I do have the service manual thanks to you last week pointing

  • Beogram 4000: The lights are on but nobody is home

I just recently purchased a Beogram 4000 that I paid almost nothing for, the shipping here within the U.S.A. cost twice what the turntable cost, but it is not working. The control panels were off the table when I got it and the cosmetic condition of the wood on the base and the acrylic cover are a little rough, but all parts appear to be here. I was
