Looking for a replacement for my 2041 link module. One of mine will only accept manual control from the remote control module - no IR controls. I tested the remote module with another link module so I know it is ok.

I was working on a recently aquired set of CX-50 speakers and I noticed the previous owner has made some "modifications" like drilling a hole in the back to run speaker wires to bypass the DIN connector. Once I had the back plate opened to make the repairs, I noticed the plastic plate that holds the washer that provides strength to the hanger

Hi, I just installed a replacement Beomaster 5000 into my Beosystem 5000 and have two small problems I hope someone can help me with. First, the mute circuit does not work properly. The speakers in the main room, speaker 1 will only mute when I insert my headphones. It does not respond to any of my remotes or from the front panel, and the main speakers

Steve, Thanks for the advice. I replaced the plug but still had the same problem. I finally opened the cabinet and checked the socket, but found nothing out of sorts. In the end, I replaced it with another Beomaster 5000. The datalink wors perfectly on that one, but it has two small problems I'll ask abot in another thread. Dom

Peter/Chris/Steve, Thanks, you were all correct - at least one lead was broken in the plug. I have no problem with soldering and I was able to get the black outer portion off of the plug, but how do I remove the center section from the metal shell? I have never taken a DIN plug apart before. Dom

After more than a year of normal operation, the datalink for the phono connection on the BM5000 stopped working. I connected my Beogram 5005 to another socket and the datalink worked so I know it's not the turtable. All other datalink socket connections work. Any suggestions for common failure points? Thanks. Dom

I have a BeoCenter 3500 which states the loudness control only has effect below a volume setting of 4. I could not find this information for my BeoMaster 5000 in the user manual, service manual, or in these forums. Does anyone know the volume setting for the BeoMaster 5000 that ends the effectiveness of the loudness control? Dom

Hi, I still have the same problem I reported in an earlier post (see http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/123800.aspx ) that I could not resolve. I plan on opening both my 5005 and 3000 right next to each other this weekend to see if I can resolve this problem. If I can't figure out what is going on, I was thinking about swapping the bottom sections

To be more precise, using the desciptions in the Service Manual, the stud on the bottom of the Wire Pulley (1634) is interfering with the Arm for Switch (1608) half way through its rotation. Toward the end of the record, the Wire Pulley starts rubbing against the Fly Wheel (1601). I have the deck height adjusted to 3 mm with the arm near the end of

Beoaus/Graham, I checked the wire between the 5005 and the 3000 and they are the same. I'm not sure what I should be pulling forward, but I tried to move the wire pulley and the gear below it by pushing them in different directions to no avail. I could not see any object cought in the gears either. Something is causing the wire pulley and gear to
