Ok, I probably can't answer your question, but I can offer a little insight. I have a Beocenter 3500, which is related to the Beomaster 3000 and it is a quality performer. I also have a Beomaster 5000, which I find very similar in sound quality, but has more convenience features - making it my preference. You will have to answer that same question

The 4002 switch unit is really an accessory power outlet. It is triggered by the power on the BM so you can power another unit like an amplifier at the same time. It does not activate the pre amp outputs.
-
If the BM is otherwise working, it would seem like a bad etch or loose connection to the preamp outputs. It would seem very odd to have both channels having that problem. Is the receiver working fine otherwise?
-
How do you have it hooked up? Which output conections are you using?

I'm looking forward to your work on these. I'm not familiar with the 3702, but if the cloth for the fret is the same as on the S45, check out 28 point linen that is used for cross stitch. To my eyes it was an exact match in weight, fabric pattern, and transparency. Plus it's available in many colors and you can buy it in bulk on eBay. Good

Yes, those spiders are not supposed to have that wave to it. I've had success in replacing the foam surrounds, but I've never had to fix a spider. Maybe someone on the forum has this experience or can suggest someone who can help you. Good luck.

Yes, my CX50 have the same fill material and it took several weeks of playing the speakers for a few hours a day for the bass to sound full. It's just the required break in time for the new foam. The same thing happened with my C75s, but the break in time seemed much shorter for them.

My concern about the shim method is that you leave the voice coil fully exposed during the time the dust cap is off. Whenever I tried this, I worried I would have something fall in, no mater how clean I kept the area I was working in. I liked the idea of keeping the dust cap intact and letting electo-magnetism do the work for me.

My Beocenter 3500 works with just the base of the antenna - the elements had been broken off years ago.

What about the sound quality? How would you compare them to other quality designs of any vintage? I find them to be very evenly balanced with surprisingly good bass response for their size. What are others thoughts?
