  • Re: Please B&O, stop painting everything white

White cabinets can look quite good - let's face it, white's just the chromatic opposite of black. But I saw a pair of BL8000s in white in the window of the B&O showroom in Munich last week and I thought they looked pretty unimpressive. The white fabric is too transparent and you can see the outline of the components behind - it takes the

  • Re: What makes B&O better?

Hi Evman, I don't know if B&O is better. But I know that I love owning, using and even simply looking at audio and video equipment that a company has put so much effort into creating. As you can see from the many posts on this forum, B&O is not always (ever?) at the front line in terms of technology or performance, but I get a huge amount

  • Any opinions on Tiscali TV+?

I apologise to all non-UK Beoworlders for this post, which is totally UK-focused. Just wondered if anyone out there has any first hand experience of the TiscaliTV+ service? The selection of channels available looks quite good, as do the on-demand and pay-to-view features and the built-in PVR. And it's pretty low cost if you take a Tiscali broadband

  • Re: Integrated Freeview and STB-C

Apologies for coming back to this thread again but I thought I'd drop in an update in case it's of use to anyone thinking about integrated DVB-T. B&O UK are absolutely clear that if you have the integrated DVB-T module installed on a BC6 or BV7 you will lose one STB controller. They say the reference in the manual to accessing STB-C on the

  • Re: Integrated Freeview and STB-C

Thanks for the replies but they seem to cover both options. To make even it more confusing the BV6 manual says if the DVB-T module is fitted you access STB menu via V-AUX - but my dealer doesn't agree. Says the STB won't work. Does anyone at B&O know how they build these things?!

  • Integrated Freeview and STB-C

Hi Guys, I've been told by B&O that if you opt for the integrated DVB-T module on a BV6 or 7 you lose one of the STB-C functions. On the BV7 that's not such a problem as it has two STB-Cs, but the BV6 only has the one so no way to control an additional STB-HDD. I knew the integrated option was programmed to the DTV/SAT button on the Beo4

  • Re: Interesting Observation - Loewe

Help! Someone save us from this thread. Have you not heard about honesty in design? Putting wood onto a plastic (or metal) surface is so - dishonest. It is not true to the manufacturing concept. And that is what B&O is all about. Please B&O, keep the wood veneers for the staff canteen floor.

  • Re: Being Green - How important is it for B&O

It's been quite a while since I visited B&O in Struer but last time I did they were pretty keen on green in their products. They eliminated most of the painting because of the solvent issues and they have a very environmentally acceptable anodising approch, don't use chrome, etc. Also have been using dual transformer systems to reduce standy

  • Re: Used BV7-32 - Any Opinion?

Thanks for all the comments. I have, of course, seen a BV7-32 runnning but not under all conditions and with all sources and formats so not sure if motion blur, brightness etc are big weak areas. The opinions are useful. It's such a good looking TV but, you know, when you see so many negative comments on the site about B&O's LCD TVs and

  • Re: New 7-32? Digital tuner for BV7/8?

Chrisreunion: I'm also waiting for B&O to upgrade their BV7-32, because for the moment all the improvements have gone into the 40' version, and nothing in the 32', that still has no HDMI inputs, offers a panel with lower specs than BV8-32, seems to still have the digital input issue (only stereo, not surround sound), no motorized tilt
