I'm having an issue with some records where they'll slip on the platter, especially while cleaning or spinning up. Would I be able to get a pad for the platter (like some other brands have) without messing up the weight calibration for the tone arm / cartridge?

Yes, this is what I do and I have seen no adverse affects on the motor. Just make sure you are gentle about it.

I use a RX-2 as well, but with an MMC3 cartridge. It's an awesome TT but if we're considering that the cartridges are equal, it really just comes down to which one you like more. As for cleaning, I do exactly what you are describing, I use a discwasher brush and just gently let it run over the record as it's cueing. Just don't push too

I noticed that B&O made some linear tracking turn tables, but mine is the kind with a standard tone arm. Was there any advantages or disadvantages to the linear tracking models?

I found this at music direct http://www.musicdirect.com/product/80755 but was wondering how well something like that works for people. I already have a discwasher brush that I run over the records before I play them and this would be for cleaning the really dirty ones (especially after I buy used vinyls). --Thanks.

This works without a headphone amp?
