Yes, it would be nice if the BV8 had a more advanced sound processor, but this would likely affect the sales price and may have been a consideration. The system does offer examplary performance for baoth audio (BL3s only) and video (BL3s + BV8 speakers) in a non-surround application. I am hopeful thatn the new sub will be a more accurate transducer

[quote user="soundproof"] thavn writes: Are you serious? I have BL5 in a surround setup with my Avant as a centre speaker. It works ok, but could have been better. I am considering buying a BV7 with BL7-4, but the 7-4 speaker makes the set a bit too tall for my wall (I have two paintings over the TV that can´t be moved). I am completely

Edde, Your dealer can download the "Apple Remote" PUC software to the firmware on your Beovison. They either have to have the Beovision at the store or they can come to your residence with a laptop and do the download. I currently have an issue with the "Apple Remote" commands in the download in my firmware where it sends too long

Mark, I do not think that you can power up the BL3s without first powering up the BV8, but I am not an expert. Yes, I have "woven" some of the larger pieces into primary residences; specifically, a recent system consists of BV7 (w/BL7-4), BL9s (front), BL3s (rear), and a BC2 in a 22' X 20' X 12' h room (library/media room) with

Mark, Yes and this is what I do with my BV8/BL3/Apple TV/Tivo system for audio-only situations. Just add "Pmute" to the list of available functions on the Beo4 (see your Beo4 guide on how to do this) then hit list, scroll to "Pmute" (I have mine as the first item) and hit "go". The panel and the BV8 audio will turn off

JK, I am surprised that your bitrate is so low. I have numerous friends and colleagues in Boston (mainly Back Bay) and the surrounding countryside and no one that I know has issues with download speeds. In fact it was a friend in Back Bay that convinced me to buy an Apple TV based on his nearly instantaneous downloads and ease of use. I have never had

Thanks for the reminder.......Looks like the mass media has finally caught up with the tech guys, as expected.

Perhaps we will need no "players" or "transports" sooner than we thought. This may happen quicker than expected!! http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/05/technology/05bluray.html?_r=1&em I am already on board..... goodbye mechanicals, hello bitstreams

burantek: thanks, it took a bit of thought and quite a bit of back and forth with the cabinetmaker. As far as 24, it just happened to be on the Tivo menu as an advert, but I am told it is a good show! martin: thanks, I put this up to show some possibilities outside of a contemporary approach, within a small space, and at a "relatively" modest
