  • Re: So.. why do you buy Bang & Olufsen?

Can't say I 'buy' B&O as such But, I've owned a fair few over the years. My first was a Beomaster 1400 with Beovox 1702 that I got at a jumble sale (mentioned in another thread) for £3 each. The Beomaster wasn't working so I took it to a guy who repaired hi-fi stuff. Turned out I should have connected an arial! That cost

It does seem though, that there is a general agreement that maybe B&O should have thought beyond the 'dock' because, as has been noted by several people - do you really want to leave your iPhone ringing away up there, or you desperately need to see if you've received any texts and, of course, all those thousands of aps just sitting there

[quote user="Doctor"] I also confess to seeing less point in an iPod dock now as I would prefer to stream music wirelessly from the iPod so that it was to hand rather than on the other side of the room. This would also allow a rather more exciting design unconstrained by the need to incorporate the iPod in the device. I do actually now have

I'd love to know what the relevance is here to the Beosound 8 that was the subject of discussion. Maybe you should be on a Medical Forum ?

(back to the subject - Beosound 8) Yes tomaz, very nice details. It sort of reminds me of the Beomaster 1200 I had - solid brushed aluminium. (I paid £3 for it at a jumble sale and another £3 for a pair of Beovox 1702s) If the back is as good as the front then it's a great piece of work. The Beosound 8 looks very plastiky though I haven't

Some nice ones here!! I like the ' tickbox ' On our ever increasing number of property shows - or are they just repeats? - I like people for whom it 'ticks all the boxes' . Obviously they work in local government and have forms to fill to show they have met all their targets. But here's another: "yeah no" or "yeah

Hey, Lee you've hit on two I've had to hit on the head more than a few times. When I was a lecturer (design) I had, on many occasions, to correct student written work for using "text speak" . And, as for 'BRAINSTORMING' . It was a forbidden word in my class. You see, when it comes to thinking up new shapes and designs, brainstorming

  • Annoying word of 2010

I thought I'd throw this one in! Do you have a pet hate word that has been doing the rounds in 2010? I do: "Absolutely" It is the most absurd, overused and mis-used word I've heard in a long time. A simple "Yes" would do Happy New Year

Nice solution and rendering, Tomaz. As it's a plan view I cannot see if the speakers are raised or flush with the central bar. I suggested they should be flush (or almost flush). This looks like it should be wall-mounted. Otherwise you lose the integrity of the form with all thats happening at the back - unless the back has the same attention applied
