hi moxxey, below are the service menu settings for my BV8-40 cheers splud

I appreciate your reply moxxey; I just want more feedback as to the quality of the screen display. The problem is I will be purchasing the BV7 blind as I live a 1600km round trip from my B&O dealer and cannot get there to see it 1st hand. But if I keep the BV8, will I always be thinking that I should have bitten the bullet and just got the BV7!

I have ordered the BV7-40 without any disc drive, so would that mean that I get 3 HDMI inputs?? Ok, so I watched Valkyrie last night, the 1st 10 minutes with film mode on, too clean looked a bit plastic, also had the shimmer effect around some objects. Hi spezializten OK managed to access the menu...Turned off film mode & will test it later on a hired Blu Ray film, fingers crossed. Would love to know what the other settings are in the service menu?? Very tempting to play around, dont worry, wont touch them Will update later Cheers TC

Hi guys, I have been told that B&O are testing a software fix at the moment, but I will try disabling the 'film mode' as above. I will let you know if this works. Although I have ordered the BV7-40 as a replacement which will arrive mid June here in Australia. Cheers TC

Ok so it's a few days later and having watch many more films on BluRay and messed with just about all the settings, I can still see a problem with the picture also i now have noticed a clear shimmer on some objects especially around people. My dealer has also seen these problems with his setup and is testing a new firmware to improve the picture

Hi Guys, Tonight I will hire out Casino Royale Blu-ray and play with some settings (it doesnt have an option to turn off movie mode), also I will try the play back in a borrowed Xbox 360. I'm also starting to think, the effect is only with some movies as I watched The 5th Element last night and it wasnt as bad? or maybe I'm just getting used

I sit about 3.5mtrs, it did take an hour or so to get used to the size, but now after a week with it, i dont think i could go smaller. It's hard to explain the image on some films, they just dont look real. I will mess around with the settings on the PS3 tomorrow, try different resolutions etc. does anyone have any optimal settings you use with
