My first port of call would be to examine the external RF modulator (check that it is plugged in) and check the integrity of the connections. Just a thought. Am curious - how did the thing smash if it was laid on its side? Secondly B&O don't just give out PIN codes, if they did it would defeat the whole object of a PIN code security system.

As many will know I have exposure to these products on a daily basis, my view is that unless you have a really sizeable room and enjoy reasonably high volumes then the Beolab 9's are more than adequate - the 5's are lazier and more powerful granted, but the benefits are often lost on the non-audiophile. @Bayerische - corrected with a sw update if I recall. 9's are more than suitable for 90% of environments IMHO, but if you have available funds and want that extra 20% then wny not?

Hi, on a BV7 AV4 uses the 2 phono/rca inputs for audio, hence you can use component for AV4 (for both video and audio). Not much use to you I know, but might give you an idea - there has to be a setting (PC?) on Source which allows you to use direct audio inputs.

Speak to Steve at Sounds Heavenly - you need a switching device to turn the speaker on and the appropriate cables. He can advise you properly. Theoretically you can connect to the Active but if you want sound from your TV it will have to be connected directly to the TV via either RCA out or Headphone Out I suspect.

Speakers always tend to keep their prices - as I read this post I thought your summary or used prices was a bit astray. Why not contact any one of the three main pre-owned resellers and see what they have to offer? I personally do not recommend skipping the centre speaker at all, two Beolab 5 without a centre speaker would be a shame unless you are
