I would like to hear from your experience: your Beolabs 3 are standing on the rubber base stand or the aluminium table stand? Is the choice relevant for sound quality?

I have a pair of Beolabs 3 in my living room as my stereo system playing an ipod. I intend to buy a surge protector but would like to know whether an energy conditioner would also make any difference in the quality of sound.
