I don´t really care if there is support for airplay or not, but I am very suprised that there is no digital in... it seem like a huge oversight and something that could make this product so much more attractive.

For me b&o products is about offering something more and something for the future. That is what I love and enjoy with bs9000 still and have done for almost 12 years. The encore is sadely not this kind of product. It has nothing to do with price or apple... and when it comes to Airports; b&o put that in their video...

that sounds horrific, very not b&o!

I just want a premium product that; 1. Actually is premium (like the beolab 5 speakers) 2. Plays well with the rest of the world. There is no good reason for b&o to try to be Apple or any other brand, just stick to what you are good at and use it in a good way.

They are making very strange choices compared to what is happening in the marked, excluding their users from a all over good experience. They need to take a close look at what experiences they can control and not. I think also they would be well served with taking a step away from hardware and use more time on software. Could not agree more. My current setup with macmini with beoport, DAC and linkplayer works much more efficent. I still have my old 9000 hocked up in the system, but only use it for the AUX from the TV. I guess I could sell that too and run audio in to the macmini. With this setup I can use the beo 4 for simple navigation and my ipad or iphone for navigation

I totally agree with Bri. That said, I think this kind of product from b&o is more for the segment of users that did not fully take the step over to the digital age yet. For the rest of us, with fully digital solutions connected to b&o speakers, it does not really revolutionize anything.

I think what all this discussion boils down to is my point earlier. What we need is a hub to connect our mac or pc or whatever and use the formats we like
-
I just wish b&o could give me a hub. I have no reason to transfer my media to yet another device. As a small company, b&o can never compete or comply every changing digital or other format and it is actually silly to try. I want something i can connect all my devices with. A stable hub that connect and enhance my more or less ever changing gadgets

Update: I ended up picking up the Apogee Duet and it is amazing! The sound quality is totally changed, even on lower encoded music. I am listening again to a lot of music, discovering new details. Any DAC will probably make a huge difference, but i can´t recommend the Duet enough!
