Sorry, forgot to ask - is there a good method to accurately set the tracking force? I presume that it needs to be set to compensate for the wear in the cartridge so you can't just set it at the recommended 1.2g? Thanks

Thanks Peter. Let me try out a new lead and the tracking force and if not I'll definitely take you up on your offer. I have come across a someone called Beocable on Ebay that seem like they might have what I need lead-wise but better quality than my existing lead. Cheers

Excellent! Thanks as ever.

Thank you Sir! I presume that the Ground pin is different to the earth from the DIN plug casing? Which is the one that actually goes into the amp alongside the phono plugs? Cheers

Hi they are MMC 20ENs - not sure how old but one is definitely better than the other. I was wondering whether the DIN to phono converter I'm using would have anything to do with it as its starting to fall apart! What's the best way to clean the stylus? Cheers

Should I clean the contacts, re-set the tracking force? Cheers

Hi I want to get a new DIN to phono lead made for my Beogram 4000 to go with some interconnects for the rest of my system - quick question - how are the pins in the DIN plug wired up? Cheers
-
Hi I'm no expert, but have seen a few 4000's in operation now and when they work correctly the platter spins at the right speed right away. It doesn't sound like an expensive thing to get fixed though (famous last words!) Cheers

tyres: Hi, Actually I'll be interested in your experience connecting your Beogram to your amp's phono input socket, assuming it's not a B&O amp? I tried connecting a Beogram 9500 to the phono input on my amp, and got dreadful sound out of it :-( I tried the AUX socket instead, and got a much more acceptable result. Not sure why the bad
