My quest for the Beogram 4000 has ended. I finally found one, in the opposite end of Denmark. It looks good, but the arm doesn't light up. I have ordered a new light bulb from Dillen. That should be the only failure on this beogram, and the wooden trim is rosewood. I found it for 50 GBP in northern Jutland, not long away from the B&O factory

Shine on you Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd, Distant Sound of Thunder LP on my BG 8000, Sounding a lot better than my 4002, but I have to recalibrate the tracking force of the 4002 sometime before I can get rid of distortion and lack of bass.

I think that theese "echo" units are built like a normal reverb tank for use with electric guitars and Hammond organs. There are 1-3 springs with pickup coils in both ends. -Søren

Nice system, can I have one of those Redlines? I drive my parents crazy with a pair of S-75's and a pair of S-60's I have had another pair of S-75's, though, but they took too much space for my (then new) Beogram 8002...

Thank you for your response I have tried several brand new records, but there is still audible inner groove distortion. A Pioneer Pl-223 with Ortofon OM5, I once had, would never produce audible distortion, and when I try my old and new records on my Father's Beogram 8002, there is almost no distortion at all. -Søren Hammer

Hello, I still have the problem... The Turntable is audibly distorting about tho thirds though a record. It does that with my MMC20CL and MMC20S cartrigdes, The arms are still tracking 100% parallel, and the tracking force is set to 1,5g, which is the maximum setting, though I have tried everythng between .8 and 1,5. The turntable clearly sounds better

Thank you very much for posting, very interesting reading :-) I can't wait to have my aging MMC20CL and 2 defect MMC2 Cartrigdes refurbished by Axel! Nice Beolab 5000 system + a perfect Beogram 4000

I had an (almost) similar problem with my MMC2 stylus, which i bought with my Beosystem 5500 last year. It played the test record flawless, when the system came home, I tried with one of my own records. the cantilever had been slightly bent to the side after the first play of a side... Three plays later, the cantilever fell off(!) the MMC2 unit itself

My Beogram 4002, Beomaster 4400 and Beovox S-75 great products that stood the test of time!
