  • Re: Moving away from home

@ Evan: I must try the K701 and Q701 in the music store then, they get really good reviews. Seems like the Fostex also receives a lot of praise. @ Søren: I would really be interested in finding a nice dorm and of course a cool roommate, sounds a perfect match. Should at least "infect" him when I bring some of my gear I'm still considering

@ Søren: It could be fun to move into the same dorm as him, has he caught the Beovirus yet? @ Evan: I have a pair of Sennheiser earplugs for mobile- and ipod use, I would like to use them at the stereo for the most. Grado indeed has a nice line of models, the 125 and 225-series should be tried someday. AKG is known in my world (studio and musicians

  • Moving away from home

I don't know if this is the right forum to post in, Vintage could definately be a secondary option, but here it goes: I will *maybe* be starting my higher Education as an engineer ( Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering. ) in Aarhus this september, about a two hour drive from where I live now. Because of that, I would like to

  • Re: Beogram 8000 platenspeler

Yes, that can absolutely be a capacitor problem, but it's also possible that there is dirt on the speed governor which is a metal disc with square holes along the edge for reading speed. It's under the subplatter. I cleaned mine when it had speed problems and they dissapeared

How is the tracking force, it should be just about 1,2-1,6 grams. There is a scale on the right side of the tonearm. I could also sound like the pre-amp is overloading because of too high sensitivity. What preamp are you using? Sorry for not answering in Dutch, but I can't write in that language

Price lowered, you'll get a retipped cartridge for the price of the retipping alone!

[quote user="bayerische"] [quote user="Jonathan"] [quote user="bayerische"] From my memory, those are plastic studs, holding the black plastic plate sitting flush with the fabric on the cone. So just relax. It won't make a difference even if one of those studs was broken off by the repairman. Overreaction of the century

  • Re: Shipping a Beogram 5500 safely

The Beogram 5500 platter would have to be taken off, and some protection against arm rolling should be inserted at the arm slot in the back. Ship the stylus seperately in a safe box. You should also take some precautions when shipping the Beocenter 9000. The lower glass panel is known to loosen under transit, as it's just attached with double-sided
