I think B&O used plexiglass to lighten the mass of the 6000.
Well, they did a h3ll of a job! I have never lifted a denser/heavier object in my life!
Beomaster 8000 is IMO a little more backbreaking than the 6000 quad, 21 kg and a worse weight distribution

He once had three 6000's to hang on three seperate brackets side by side, it was only to show off as he has his whole house is stuffed with B&O Theoretically, he could wallhang his whole collection of Beomaster 6000 quads, but there wouldn't be wallspace for them (he has 12, fully serviced and repaired!)

There are a few opinions on that. The Beosystem 5000 is the first stacked system. Generally: A CD-player with a very solid laser that is unlikely to fail (the CD50, also included in early Beosystem 5500 sets). Beogram CD5500/6500 and 7000 are also reliable performers. An, In my opinion superior cassette deck. Much of the electronics comes from the Beocord

It's pretty much plug and play, there is also an earth screw besides the RCA plugs.

One word springs to mind: Stunning! My Father had a dual capstan 5000 when new, they were notoriously known for spending more time at the B&O workshop than any other B&O product! He sold it off when it was repaired the last time before the guarantee ran out Impressive decks and totally built by B&O, I would like to listen to it. Those big

The whole veneer part of the receiver is one part and comes off with two screws from the back of the unit. My Father had redone the veneer on my 4400 with rosewood, using the existing cover as template for cutting. Something similar could be done on yours
