Ran UK Penta IIIs off of converters rated at 600 watts; each was the size of a shoebox. Never any trouble, even with extended (loud) listening.

Thanks. Indeed I do not have the technical skill. I'm good for removing the screws, but that's it. Right now they're working nicely on the massive converters, but it's neither nice to look at nor very efficient. My nearest B&O is 300 miles away, so I'll try to find a local shop.

Any thought on the level of challenge of rewiring 240v for 110? I obtained an extraodinarily well-priced pair of 6632 at an estate sale (some cosmetic issues to the case, but the drivers are pristine, and the amps light up green when connected). I understand that to upconvert 110 to 240, each Penta needs 300w, which means an upconverter of 900w or more

Mike, any update on your amplifier issue? One of the two channels on my 9500 seems to have failed this week after several years of excellent performance. I, too, am running the output to a subwoofer that then passes on to the satellites. I wondered if it was a wiring option or s sub problem so I ran every possible iteration with the same result -- full
