Updaqte, now found some equivalent belts for the panels, a local Gitem (Euronics clone) had some, the audio panel now works, Need to sort the cord system for the cd panel now! The mute relay now works, having stripped it form the board, discovered the clipping slots in the cover, got it off and cleaned the contacts with cleaner and also a quick swipe

Best of the Animals on audio tape on the BC8500 - to verify the tape mech after service! Hey ho wish I was back then, the brain is, but the exterior shows its true age!! tony

Thanks Chris as ever a wonderful source of info - if the mute relay is a double pole job(think it is ) and a 6v coil I have a box full of 'em from a previous endeavour, speed boards for r/c boats(servo control chip now obselete - baah \philips!!) Will make a start tomorrow I hope as currently re ringing the base drivers on a pair of s80/2's

Speaker 2 outputs are fine just one output on Speaker 1 is kaputt although when overidden by phones bothe channels on phones are fine - hence my assumption that the relay is the problem! salut tony

Hi all Spent part of the day getting the tape deck back in action - successfully! Have now got another problem, one of the speaker 1 lines is not producing sound output, the headphone socket which isolates the speaker 1 output is working fine, ie 2 channel sound, but when unplugged as before only one channel output to the speakers. Can anyone confirm

Just about to start the refurb of the above, openned the beast up to find one of the panel belts broken, anyone any suggestions re replacements BnO or other type / source Other belt available from dillen(Martin) Tony

Mine was supplied as HD ready, the info requested Model 9344 Item 1828*** S/n 21277*** Hope help arrives, I have achieved digital sound using an spdif lead but no picture the box apparently puts out 480(?) 576(?) and 1080 do i need to use AV1?, which lead do I use , an HDMI->dvi-i or the 4 core lead into the y-Pb-Pr? I realize there is little adv

Ok tried that cannot find any ref to hdmi/dvi etc in service area! tried it again with the 4 pole and red/blue/green lead into av4 no joy - this really is strange, as as before the pc works fine on dvi socket - the box i'm trying to connect is a HD 500hd vs2
