I have a teak 1000 pending restoration (since two years... sigh) and it has some damage where I can somewhat see the structure. The top layer is veneer that is glued on something else wooden, so I can't see any reason why they would have had to varnish them; could've just as well used the proper veneer in the first place. With the missing chips

Regarding the Beo4, I suspect bad contacts in the battery compartment or its wiring, or corrosion on the circuit board. Are there any signs of batteries having leaked in the past? It could also be just plain faulty, although that is quite rare. In any case, I don't think it will be cost effective to have the dealer fix it - unless you're willing

Oh yes, and the bare non-insulated wire is signal ground (middle pin in the DIN), while the outer shielding of the cable goes to the metal sleeve of the DIN plug
Numbering 5p DIN shows 1,4,2,5 and 3 from left to right. I think yellow and orange is used for output signal but what about the red and blue? If yellow/orange is correct where do I connect them on the 5p DIN connector?
Don't you just love how people cut off the DINs? The black 6-pin connector at the other end
I like the old school stuff :)
Me too - I got one of the Philips EE2000 kits from my father around 1979. He brought it from Germany and so most of the material was in German, which slowed me down a bit because I was eleven or something I had plenty of fun with it and amended it with components salvaged from old

I've got the CD as well - it was one of the first two CDs I bought in 1985 (the other one was "Our Favourite Shop" by The Style Council, I think). Back then they made proper CDs, so I don't think I need the LPs...
I have seen various new B&O parts/accessories for sale on ebay and the above makes me wonder from where many of these parts are sourced. Some people somewhere must have access to brand new B&O parts and I would have thought that many of these could only be via official B&O sources. Am I correct?
Yes
Hrm, it's not bad, but's a lot for the eye to focus on on that page - too many photos on a single page.
That was my first impression as well - just as messy as the photos quoted in this thread - but after spending 30 seconds with the page, I decided I was very pleased. It's actually easier (or at least

Keep in mind that cleaning the relay may not be a long time fix. The contact points have a thin plating (platinum?) and when it's gone, it's gone and the points will oxidize again practically while you wait. Never use anything abrasive on them, regular piece of paper dipped in isopropanol, pulled back & forth between the contacts, will be

I would definitely have it off then, no matter what it is connected to!
