  • Re: Beovision 10-46 in 3D in 2012 ?

Tim, I've mentioned in other threads that there is too much focus on the display technology. Don't use this as a buying decision. This is not the big news or where you should focus IMOP. If you talk to the TV companies, their big areas of focus are on the picture engines, their interface and combining them with content services with greater

  • Re: Update to Beovision 10-46 vs. jump to 7-55?

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. Panels/Glass have improved on 3 counts; response rates, light and angle of view. I would argue that many people who aquired the latest panels are blown away by the fact that the panel in brighter - take a Samsung for example, they set their panels to dynamic mode in the showrooms and its like the Pepsi

  • Re: The unique, one and only SOFTWARE UPDATE THREAD!

Hi there, Unfortuntely I've not found a single home for the rev history and hopefully someone with access to the service tool can update this thread. Going through this thread and some others on BV7 MkIII onwards you'll see lot of bug fuxes. V5.x you have was fairly robust. V6.x - V8.x were shockingly bad, with every fix being made they introduced

  • Re: Any further improvements to BV 7-40?

I believe the major benefits you'll gain from jumping from a MkII to one of the newer models is the BeoSystem 3 engine with its HDMI connectors and the 1080P Full HD display. I'm not sure I agree with Moxxy on this one. The system chassis is the primary benefit (sound, picture, connectivity processor), thereafter, you'll see very modest

  • Re: BeoVision 7 3D Glasses Compatibility?

I very much doubt that B&O have the R&D available to develop their own 3D standards - remember this is not a company that does software really. The issue is more related to the TV and Glasses connecting. I'm only guessing, but on the basis they have mostly been using Samsung glass, its perhaps likely their active glasses will work. And for

  • Re: Some expert advice on the Beovision 7-40 Mk3 and the 10-40.

It sounds like you might not have not used the right speaker setting in the sound menu. Sorry, I've forgotten the correct one - but check the manual as it goes 0,1,2,3 or similar. Your dealer is right about the 7.4. Its a great speech mono channel and is very good in my similar application to yours. I have exactly the same but without the rear 6000s

  • Re: Beoport vs AirTunes - strange finding

Airtunes is not really comparable to Beoport since its actually a streaming solution that uses the Remote Audio Output Protocol and is infinately more sophisticated, carrying more data and content types - including 1080P video streaming. Sound quality will always be potentially greater via Airtunes as its carrying digital data. The ideal solution is

  • Re: The unique, one and only SOFTWARE UPDATE THREAD!

Moxxey, Hug a tree, save the planet. Solar power is the future for your home. Or with a reliable 11.xx (we hope) that finally after nearly 5 years, we'll have a perfect BV7-40 that finally says what it does on the tin. Lights out.

  • Re: The unique, one and only SOFTWARE UPDATE THREAD!

Hi Moxxey, Unfortunately 10.x introduced a handshake issue that made startup of the Sky box from standby sometimes will not work reliably. The resolution was to leave the Sky box always on. In my case, this was an issue with the 1TB Amstrad box. Note sure about the AppleTV2, but I sometimes I experience similar.

  • Cabling questions

Hi all, I'm about to move into a new home. The house is actually 25 years old - so not a new build. I'm thinking about the cabling and would like to link my products over Cat7. I'm not very familiar with B&O's protocols so had a few questions: - If I install Cat7 cabling in the house, can I mix this with data as well as B&O's
