• Re: using iTunes Match with BeoSound 5

Fortunately, I didn't encounter any of those problems. It kept all of my original artwork and tags. However, it took a day and a half to complete. It looks like it matched about 90% of my music. I can definitely see how this would improve my music on the BeoSound 5. Most of my CD rips were ripped many years ago at only 128 kbps. I've been wanting
Wait ... so were you able to get the BeoMaster 5 to see iTunes match music? I was going to tinker with this some time this week but it sounds like you may have beat me to it!
No. I was just intersted in the possiblity of using iTunes Match to clean up tags and cover art in preparation for transfer to the BeoMaster

  • using iTunes Match with BeoSound 5

Last night, I used the new iTunes Match service on my music library. While it DOES upgrade music with a quality lower than 256 Kbps with 256 Kbps AAC files from the iTunes Music Store, it keep one's original metadata. What this means it that we can't rely on iTunes Match to clean up our metadata for us prior to loading our music on the BeoSound

  • Re: BeoCenter 2 EOL

It's a shame that B&O missed a great opportunity and neglected the BeoCenter 2 from the very beginning. I love the design, but it was technologically outdated from the very beginning. It lacked hdmi and even component cable connections and lacked video upscaling at a time when every other DVD player offered these features. B&O should have

  • Re: BeoPlayer App Updated ... missing radio station

I'm really appalled that B&O allowed this update to be available with all the bugs it has. Didn't they even test it?? IMHO, B&O needs to fire their entire software devlopment team and have it replaced. The same can be said for the software develpment for the BeoSound 5. Terrible bugs, crashes, and omissions of basic features such as

  • Re: BeoSound 5 Multiple Albums and Artwork for Same Album - Still an issue

Do you still have the original CDs? As unappealing as it sounds, it might just be faster to delete the problem albums from the BeoSound 5, re-rip and tag them correctly, and re-transfer them to the BeoMaster 5. That's what I did. I found it was just faster than trying to find a solution using BeoPlayer. I truly found BeoPlayer to be slow and cumbersome

I understand that you want to you Beoplayer, but I just don't think that app is robust enough to handle this. The free ITunes app can definitely solve this problem. 1. Make Barbra Streisand the "album artist." 2. Keep the individual artists as they already are under "artist." 3. Tick the box for "part of a compilation"

  • Re: Beosound 5 Shows Multiple Albums and Artwork for Same Album

You can certainly use BeoPlayer to edit the music on the BeoSound 5. I did this initially when I bought my BeoSound 5. I just find BeoPlayer to be rather slow and cumbersome. ITunes is much faster and easier for editing, and iTunes give you more control than does BeoPlayer. However, iTunes cannot edit direclty to the BeoSound 5 as BeoPlayer does. It

Welcome to BeoWorld! This is a common matter of needing to clean up the tags on the music files. You can do with with BeoPlayer, but I find it to be much faster to just delete the songs from the BeoSound 5, edit the tags on those songs using iTunes, and then send the re-tagged songs back to the BeoSound 5 using BeoConnect. Using iTunes, you need to

  • Re: ALAC (Apple Lossless) is now OPEN SOURCE!
@beojeff : iUnes Plus is not "quality". Ok, it's more simple to pay for iTunes Match service to improve your crappy (illegal?) MP3 at one time, but it is really better to rip everything in ALAC. We're talking listening through a B&O sound system here, not an iPhone : quality really matters! [/quote
