  • Re: Slingbox of volts and amps

Hi Michael: It was but the power supply I bought from Maplin's did the trick. I agree it is a really good product and when I got it (for free) I thought it would be a must-have item. To a certain extent it is. However, it is not as life changing as I thought it would be. Perhaps I don't get as excited over developments in technology anymore

Hi: Thanks for the reply, perhaps something like this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48908 The reason for getting a universal adaptor is that considering all of the electronic "junk" I have amassed over the past 6 or seven years this will come in handy. Thanks Graham

  • Slingbox of volts and amps

Hi everyone: I have acquired a Slingbox off of a friend who could not get it to work. After a little research I have discovered that the power supply that is in the box is not the original. Having looked at different forums it would appear that the Slingbox is quite fussy and this is why it is not booting into the network. Right my question is this

  • Scrap 15" monitor

Hi all: Does anyone have a scrap 15" LCD monitor that I could have for a nominal fee - I am building an LCD projector out of an OHP and therefore need one. I am happy to pay postage and/or a donation to a charity of your choice. Thanks Graham PS Make is not important as long as it works I don't care. I don't need any cables either.

  • Re: Need help with a repair?

Hi Neil: Sorry, to be honest I thought the answer was likely to be 'no' so I didn't go into specifics. I have two laserdisc players - one American unit with a built in DVD drive (I can get the model number later), it is not the elite version with the weird cherry wood paneling around the sides and nor is it the latest gold one that was sold

  • And for my next project...

Hi all: I was wondering what your thoughts were on this. When I have graduated teacher training and secured a job (hopefully soon), I aim to buy a Keracoloe shell and put a new TV inside. Unfortunately all LCD screens now have the wrong aspect ratio so I was thinking that I would put a b&o 28" CRT inside the cabinet thus enabling me to enjoy

Hi Neil: Just out of interest can you repair/service laserdisc players - I have two and I love using them with my B&O yet they are getting a bit creaky. Thanks Graham

  • Re: A processor question

Hi: Thanks for that, very helpful. Graham PS Yes I have noticed that building your own computer is clearly not a money saver. Saying that, I remember when I was in the last year of secondary school (eleven years ago) and my friend and I were thinking of setting up our own business (as geeky kids often do I guess) repairing and building PCs but even

  • A processor question

Hi all: As some of you may know, I have been building my own PCs for a while now. I used to keep abreast of processor developments and knew what was good and what wasn't. Now that it is not obvious what speed the processors are from their name - i.e. Pentium 4 2.0ghz I am at a bit of a loss to advise my friend. He was thinknig of buying a barebones
