• Re: beocenter 9300 vs 9500
I've had a 9500 for almost 10 years (bought it new) and sold it some years ago. The reason of selling it was the lack of compatiblity with beoport's netmusic and netradio. It was, imho, the best designed beocenter, but if you want to upgrade, then you're a bit limited.
I have a 9300 and use the

  • Re: beotime - on time ?

Definitely "out of the box" but I wonder if I can read it without glasses- the display looks small, but clarity and backlighting can make a big difference. Surely they must have thought about that...

  • Re: BL8000 and 7-2

I know they aren't the same being a 3-way, but this is what a lot of folks seem to think needs to happen to the 8000's. My original thought was that they are really pretty much column speakers in packaging shape with newer technology behind them, thus perhaps giving a clue as to what a revised 8000 could be.

  • BL8000 and 7-2

Regarding recent discussions about reworking the BL8000 to have ICE power amps and better drivers, it seems like that would give you something like the 7-2 speaker, right? I know the 7-2 has both channels but if you cut it in half and turned them vertically, you would have something close to what people are suggesting. My idea is not to take a saw to

  • B&O in Fortune Magazine

There was mention of B&O in the Jan 19th Fortune Magazine section "Life at the Top" which had a page showing offices of 3 people, Kalle Hvidt Nielsen of B&O, Sharen Turney of Victoria's Secret and Daniel Libeskind, an architect. Nielsen's page title was "Lose the Clutter" and features a photo of him in his spartan

  • Re: B/O's problems

kimhav: Going back to basic is a need for B&O and it might be worth mentioning Danish LEGO here that had some really bad years lately and with a new CEO they've gone back to basic and classic lego and actually listened to they customers and fans. They've actually gone that far to hire people from they fan sites as ambassadors and product

  • BeoPC- nice!

In a previous thread Peter mentioned the BeoPC as what I needed to tie by Tape2 input on my BC9300 to my iTunes world, so I finally got one and hooked it all up and it works great! I previously had my Tape2 input connected with airport express which is OK but there is no control. Now I can use my remotes (Beo4 or 1000) anywhere in the house (I have

  • Re: The B & O product/object that made you fall for them?

In the 70s when I was in college I saw a catalog with a picture of the (I think) 1900. It was just so cool. Didn't buy anything though until after 1992 when I saw a BC9500 and BL8000 together in a store- I had to have it. In the 70s I worked at an organ factory and made a pipe and a stand with a simple wooden block for the base. I added a flexible

  • Re: Anyone know why B&O discontinued the Beocenter 9300 or 9500?

xkd220: This is my favorite Bang and Olufsen item ever made. I had mine break after a power outage approximately two years ago but I wish they woud continue making it. Does anyone know the reason why they discontinued it? If I ever see a new one again, I will be the first one in line. It's my favorite too (I have 9300). The 9000 is nice but I always

  • Re: Apple Airport Express

Alex: Correct, but there's no point in this IMO as CDs are 16 bit. Yes, there is a point. You can download 24-bit music from a variety of sources and play from iTunes which you cannot do with any CD player. A computer and good DAC I think means SACD will probably never take off (not that it was). The mixonline article was interesting. My own feelings
