Dkatz, The Q was not posed to you... Your raBidness of response and direct contradiction of so many of the tenents you have already expounded upon makes me question once again your original MO and point of contention in the first place! Please... In one single, succinct statement -could you please state your definitive
Question for you: if there was a Chinese chef who was the best chef in the world, could produce every dish on your menu perfectly every time, could have every plate ready on time, and could do it at half the cost price you're paying now; would you hire him?
If his personality fit mine, he spoke English so

Rmclachlan and TodDaniel – Completely agree with both of you. I always saw B&O as a non-mass market and low volume product. For me it was between professional and consumer. A category called Prosumer (for example some high end DSLRs like the D60 are Prosumer). Folkdeejay – The beolab 6000/8000 and Beosound 1 are fairly new products compared

Most of you are not adressing all of my points but simply ignore most and only adress one of the dozen or so points I make in my lengthy replies (which are lengthy because I like to adress every point that everyone makes!) Again I will ask the question which nobody seems to be able to answer: If China is so amazingly great at manufacturing products

Interesting article in regards to Apple and outsourcing: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46091572/ns/business-us_business/?gt1=43001#.TxyLmKWmgsI And the reason that there's no American company that can match those production figures, etc... is because we have something called Labour unions here and we won't wake people in the middle of the night

Nickyg63 – I agree with you that the B&O TVs these days are overpriced, but again I must reinstate that whilst most other companies outsourced their TV production B&O did not. A lot of the money you are going goes into the craftsmanship of this TV, the hand assembly, the materials, and Danish labour costs. If you are looking for a high

Moxxey – The point of the article was about Luxury goods in general. It also mentioned other brands that are exclusive. Yes B&O has had stores since the early 90s, in fact I remember when the first ones opened up when I was a kid and I used to go in there to marvel at their sliding doors on the Beocenters. I never said that B&O should

Great Article which displays exactly the reasons why a luxury brand should not mass produce and sell lower end products to the masses. It's also about exclusivity, rarity, etc... If everyone can afford and have a B&O product it makes it less of something that people want. BMW and Mercedes each make over a million cars a year, now look at car

Moxxey – My quest is not to change the way things are. I know that I myself cannot do that and I know that most people don't care where the product is made. My point is that I personally don't want to support it because it's a personal choice not because everyone is suddenly going to follow me or because of a few people like me the

In regards to peoples posts on Racism. I have met more Chinese people who think they produce bad quality products compared to Europe than Europeans or Americans. I lived with many Chinese flatmates and most of them were proud of their Chinese heritage but they all still thought that European made products were much much better quality. There is in fact
