Have the stores gotten demo units to display and for custimers to try out in addition to sellable stock? I may very well buy one, but want to hear it first. Have been hoping that my local store here in Atlanta would get their stock along with a display unit I can test soon. Thanks! Jeff

Thanks to all for the help. That makes sense and explains my answer. It's good that it works that way, though I wonder how long it would take the system to analyze over 8300 albums. :) Jeff

Hi all, I was speaking with my local dealer the other day and think I may have been misinformed (or they may have misunderstood what I was asking). I was told that MOTS analysis can be used on a BS5 Encore when connected to a BS5 with a library ripped directly to the BS5. However, MOTS will not work on pre-ripped content stored on a NAS. Hi Sandy, While only your own ears can tell you if the result is an improvement, I think the chances of you having success with a USB DAC vs the analog mini jack are pretty high. Computer internals are often very noisy environments and most computer manufacturers aren't placing a high priority on the isolation of the soundcard from other components

I think the Apple stores used to sell the A8 and maybe even the EarSet 2 but I haven't seen those around in the store in a while. I wonder if the 3i will make it in to join the BL4 and BS8 (US store)... Jeff

I'm very interested in taking a listen to the product and I'm trying not to go in with a pre-conceived notion of what I'm going to hear. Of course, for anyone that likes to test listen to lots of different speakers, it's hard to walk in with a completely blank slate. My gut feeling is that the system will be physically larger in person
BS8 tech specs rate the frequency response at 38 Hz...that's as low as BL1 or PentaLabs...marketing seduction or true specs??
From the BeoSound 8 Spec page: EFFECTIVE FREQUENCY RANGE* 38.3 - 24,000 Hz *EFFECTIVE FREQUENCY RANGE is measured at -10 dB re. Ref level (200-2000 Hz) [quote user="Chrisreunion"

Realistically, after Apple's announcement, any product in a category where other models offer AirPlay is going to have the same problem. Even the preferred partners like iHome and B&W who have committed to AirPlay compatibility will have to try and sell the non-AirPlay units in the interim. My gut feeling is that no current dock will be AirPlay
