  • Re: MX7000 won't come out of standby

Yes, precisely. I also tried shorting the service mode connector to get the orange or red LED. The LED stays red (I2C bus error ??). I could now press TV and bypass the safety circuits but I am not confident that I could then cause more damage... Richard

  • MX7000 won't come out of standby

Hi I am trying to repair a MX7000 that will not come out of standby. I will not use component numbers in this description because I am working from a MX6000 service manual as there is no MX7000 service manual on the BeoWorld site. Is the MX6000 manual sufficiently similar to the MX7000 for this kind of fault finding? Does anyone have a MX7000 manual

  • Re: Workshop MX3500 MX5500 LX5500 How to repair and test this TV , common faults

Hi The problem was a dirty trimmer (R108). I was not able to make it work reliably by cleaning it with switch cleaner so I replaced it. Now it works perfectly. The trimmer is in the signal path and is use to set the output voltage of the final IF stage. Richard

Hi nobby, thanks for the reply. If the fault with my PAL B/G tuner is not one that can be easily fixed and you are willing to sell your spare tuner then I might just be interested. I will wait until the original author (or any one else that knows about these tuner faults) explains these rare defects in more detail before making a decision. BTW, how

Hi You talk of "some rare defects on the tuner board". How does these faults manifest themselves? Are the affected tuner boards repairable or is a new tuner needed? My reason for asking is that I have a MX5500 (PAL B/G) with a tuner fault (stange picture. It looks like it is encoded). I know it is the tuner because I have switched the tuner

Hi RE: "The plastic is old and very hard. Watch out, these hooks can break easily. But the frames are still available, around 20 Euros each ;)" I have just dismantled my MX5500 to look for a dry joint and just about every black plastic frame broke during the dismaintling process :( The frames that hold the power supply and tuner can be held

  • Re: Transporting a BeoVision Avant 32

There is plenty on room in the car (Mercedes E Class Estate). Did you have the original packaging with yours? If I buy new packaging from a dealer does anybody know how big it would be in its original packaging and whether it can be transported flat once packed? Regards Richard

  • Transporting a BeoVision Avant 32

I am considering buying a BeoVision Avant 32 from a private buyer and would like some advice with regards to transporting the TV to its new home. The seller does not have the original packaging and I only have a large estate car. Is it OK to transport the TV face down on its screen with several duvets to protect the screen or should it only be transported

Hi The product details on your site for the BeoVision 32 DVD state "Features of the two Avant DVD models: Set-Top Box Controller module and Anti-Reflex coated Contrast Screen fitted as standard. All other modules are optional.". Does anybody know whether this information applies to BeoVision 32 DVDs that were produced for all markets especially the
