  • Re: BV6-26 & HD

Keith, Many thanks for your comprehensive information here. Zwets was giving the same picture in the other thread and I am sorry that the Beocentre and Beovision got mixed up in my response akthough it appears not to have made a difference to the outcome. My (over?) emotional state on this matter is twofold. One is personal - My wife died in November

  • Re: BV6-26 & HD

Joeyboygolf and beobird, I hear what you are saying and to some great extent it conforms to my own views. However to some extent it beside the point. When I bought the set I wanted a re-assurance that it could operate on HD if I wanted it to. It was explained to me that DVI was the picture element of HDMI and the sound could come in by another route

  • BV6-26 & HD

My attempt to break into the BV6-23 & HD discussion was a bit heavy handed but reflected my shock at what was being said. One contributor states that I need an upgrade kit. Before I go into a complete sense of betrayal I thought I would be more specific and ask if BV6-26 Software type 5 type 9252 is capable of receiving HD television signals via

  • Re: Beocenter 6-23 and DVI input

Widening the thread slightly -- Is this also the case with the 6-26. I bought mine in 2005 (software 5) and was told that it could receive HD via the DVI socket. I haven't tried yet but have taken the man at his word. It was a critical point to the purchase so would be really aggrieved if I needed an upgrade.

  • Re: Does anybody know why B&O has got such a bad name ?

Beobird, I am not sure that the views of the audiophiles will be compatible with those in a "normal" electronics store and any answer that I give needs to separate those views. Let me take the audiophile view first; Even the most avid B&O fanatic must acknowledge that design is part of the B&O brand. We users will acknowledge that

  • Re: What rear speakers for surround sound

I have just purchased a set of 4000 from Lee and I think they are ideal for the job. I was lucky in that mine included the brackets so you will have to ask Lee about that and if they are not available factor in the cost. It may be that by the time you do that there will be very little difference between the two (at Lees prices). You will have increased

  • Re: Beolab 9 Speakers

Niveau, I am glad my ears didn't deceive me and that others have discovered it. The problem with letting the speakers "wear in" is that you don't really know what you are going to get until after you have spent the money.

  • Re: Beolab 9 Speakers

Thanks to all of you for your comments which I am digesting. It would be nice to bring them round for an "in house" audition but I am trying not to use my local dealer. I am trying not to fund what I consider to be failure! Unfortunately I live in Cornwall and there is only one dealer-- a monopoly produces high prices and poor service and

  • Beolab 9 Speakers

Can I hear from members about what they think of the mid-range performance of the BL9's. I have listened and found a lot of base and treble but that was a cursory listen and may have led to a bad judgement. From my previous posts you will know that mid-range and treble is important to me. I listen to a lot of violin music where detail is everything
