The film mode senses automatically the incoming signal trough the HDMI port, but only if the source allows it, that means that your MacMini needs to support 24p output to be able to make use this feature.

In regards of choosing between BS5+BM5 and BS5 Encore; are there any reason one would go for BS5+BM5 solution? Reason for asking is that the BM5 box for me it's just something that I would hide away and not even connect to a BV; I mean the BeoPlayer is just plain crap. It was nice when they released it and I'm currently making use of a BeoPort

What is the take regarding choosing between the BeoSound 5 and BeoSound 5 Encore? While the Encore doesn't have support for MasterLink there will soon be available Ethernet to MasterLink converter and as well no need to hide BM5 unit which isn't the easiest thing and as well all the mess with the cables... Also the Encore has mini-jack for headphones

You might consider installing the Combined Community Codec Pack or XP Codec Pack - I would go for the later one - to get support for additional codecs that the system missing.

Also the VIA Mini-ITX motherboard (if I do not recall wrong it's the VIA EPIA EX ) that B&O are using has additional multimedia capacities; so while it's a weak CPU;

Quick update with a solution on my initial question on how to pause a running video clip. I noticed that when clicking GO when viewing a video clip it brings up the time line/info bar för the clip; so what else can one do? Well, clicking GO once again actually paused the playing; so the solution is simply to press GO two times to pause the video

Added a WD HD Live unit to the BV10 and works very well together with the PUC; only function that I've not found on the Beo4 remote is how to pause a movie or video clip. Using STOP does what it should but also exists the movie and one has to resume the video to continue; but would like to have make use of a simple pause function.... anyone has
