These have now been sold to a beoworld member. Many thanks, Erik

I have recently relocated to the UK (London) from the US (New York) and have a pair of black BeoLab 3s for sale. I had hoped they would work without a converter but unfortunately I hadn't done my homework (luckily my BL9s work fine - they work with voltage between 110-240). The BL3s are from early 2008 and were purchased in New York (UWS store)

I hate being a B&O-basher but the BS5 in my view confirms that B&O is on the wrong track. Don't get me wrong - it looks great and no doubt has a superior interface to my current iMac/AppleTV set-up. But why on earth would anyone with half a brain buy the BS5? It is so limited in the media it can handle (video?) and it'll be dated within

http://www.prestigo.philips.com/en/gb/Overview.html As far as I can tell this should also work with the B&O range. IMHO quite a pretty remote and costs ca. 15% of the Beo5.

When I was a kid in the 1970s, CRT colour TVs were about as expensive as today's high end LCDs or low-end plasma TVs (relative to people's income that is). In those days, when a TV broke, we would replace the CRT. Can BV7s and BV9s have their panels replaced in similar fashion? If so, would it be possible to upgrade the panels as higher quality

With BL9s, would the BL2 make a huge difference? I'm not keen on the BL2's looks and would prefer to not have one of those in my house.

I'm a little bit confused. Are there two versions of the BV9, a 1080 and a HD? Or have I completely missed the point?
-
Thanks - I agree with the black vs silver comment I'm not too bothered about the absence of a dvd. I don't have an extensive DVD collection and what I have can be put on the Mac with easy access via Apple TV. Furthermore, looking 12 months out, I think downloads will increasingly be the way to purchase video.

@355f - So would you wait and buy a BV9 later in the year?
